A little thought for the day

Dust if you must

Dust if you must, but wouldn’t it be better,
To paint a picture or write a letter,
Bake a cake or plant a seed,
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there’s not much time,
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb!
Music to hear and books to read,
Friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world’s out there,
With the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair,
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come round again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and it’s not kind,
And when you go and go you must,
You, yourself, will make more dust.

Remember a house becomes a home when you can write “I love you” on the furniture

  1. Hi Cathy, so glad to meet you!

A cute little poem you've posted today. One I could certainly live by LOL! If it's not gardening in the spring and summer it's sewing and quilting in the fall and winter that keeps me busy. House keeping falls through the cracks more than I should admit ;)

Thanks for your visit to my blog today. I LOVE the Cottage forum and practically live there most of the time. Wonderful people there!!
It must be dull for you to visit there at this time of year when you are ready to begin your gardening season and most of the members are turning their minds to other things because it's winter. Watch the gallery though, often people longing for spring will post beautiful pictures of last season.

    Have a wonderful day, Cathy
